Some More Twitter Tricks for the Internet Business Person

I am really on this Twitter kick lately, and I love it! Normally, I discover something new, am fascinated with it for a while, then my interest wanes as I move on to the next great discovery. However, I have to say, I really do like Twitter for its simplicity, ease of use, and personal networking applications.

I find it much simpler than other social networking applications - I don't have to create a new profile for every new business venture, pimp out my page with skins and graphics, or join a whole bunch of pretentious groups that are just a breeding ground for spam. (Although Twitter has been getting invaded by the spammers a little lately, as all good things are these days).

I genuinely believe in ethical, honest business practices. I genuinely want to help people in whatever business I enter into, that's just me. Not everyone in Internet marketing are even on the same planet as I am with that belief (even though everyone claims to be on some level, it is really easy to see through on most people). And bringing things back to Twitter, it is so simple and direct that people entering into Twitter with only spamming on their mind are very transparent versus people that genuinely want to network and establish novel connections with others. Bonus for me :-)

So to the bones of this post - my greatest Twitter tip: establish genuine connections. Use that direct message button, reply to people's messages, and participate in the community and communication. By doing this, your Twitter experience will be incredibly enhanced.

Will this tip get you sales and conversions overnight? Most likely not. But by consistently building a value-centered network of connections, you are much more likely to produce a quality connection for a future sale with ethical and honest communication rather than with spamming.

I will now get of my business ethics soapbox. :-)

Hubpages - Better than Squidoo?

Internet marketers are always looking for new marketing methods. Staying ahead of the competition is extremely vital, and the Internet marketing and home business arena is extremely competitive, as well all know of course!

I mentioned Squidoo before as a great marketing tool, and very user friendly. Squidoo is still a fantastic tool, and a massive amount of traffic-increasing tips are out there to help each lens you build to get rated higher and get more traffic. I definitely still recommend checking it out.

I mention Squidoo in order to highlight another similar concept - HubPages. HubPages is an online publishing ecosystem where authors submit useful, informative articles on topics they know and love, and then earn royalties for their contributions through Google AdSense, eBay Partner Network or Amazon Associates.

While you can earn money directly through HubPages, it is also a useful tool for a home business or internet marketing business.

The most important thing to remember with HubPages -- provide quality content and DO NOT SPAM. you can absolutely backlink to an informative blog you might have, or an educational landing page, but HubPages delete hubs with spam links or links with popups. They also delete hubs with duplicate content, so BE ORIGINAL.

A great feature of HubPages is that their Google and Yahoo search ratings are continually climbing (even more so than Squidoo). Therefore, utilizing HubPages effectively can help tremendously with your current SEO efforts.

HubPages also does not allow adult content or spam content (a large portion of Squidoo's lenses) and still maintains search engine ratings comparable to, if not better than, Squidoo's ratings.

Try out HubPages and let me know your results! I would love the feedback!!

Backlinking

A great way to get website visitors is with effective keyword backlinking. What is backlinking you ask? Backlinking is references pointing back towards another website. Specifically in Internet marketing, backlinking is placing your home business website link within the context of relevant, keyword rich content (the more relevant, the more effective) of other pages. For example, placing your website link attached to keywords within your Squidoo page or Hubpage directing viewers back to your home page.

The particular beauty of this technique is that people clicking on relevant words usually denotes an element of interest in the particular keyword. Therefore, by attaching links to your home business page within related words, you are able to attain better conversion rates with specified interest.

As an added bonus (if what I'm saying isn't sweet enough already!), the greater the number of backlinks directed to your intended page dangling out there on the Internet, the higher your page's search engine ranking becomes. SEO, achieved.

Twitter Applications and Enhancements

Just a quick blog on some Twitter applications I was talking about before to check out (Read last blog post for more info on Twitter).

Twitter has some great applications that increase the ease with which one can tweet. I am not going to pretend that I have used all of these or even come close (just because of the sheer number of potential Twittering techniques), but I can list a bunch of these for you, and you can try out a few to see if they make life easier for you!

Aside from internet applications, Twitter can be integrated into your cell phone/smart phone/iPhone/pick-your-type-of-mobile-phone service. A few simple set-up steps and tweet away via text messaging. Otherwise, integration with iPhone apps and smart phones is also possible through phone internet services and apps.  Obviously, gathering a large friend base and network is much easier to do via traditional website usage; so I would reserve networking for Twitter time away from the phone.

Overall, check out the following:
  • TwitterBerry - a mobile client for posting updates via the BlackBerry without using SMS.
  • Twitterific - a very popular application with a sleek interface and minimal real estate. It was created for the Mac, and has extremely high reviews. Free basic version, however there is an upgraded version for $14.95 sans advertisements and with enhancements.
  • TweetDeck - TweetDeck is an Adobe Air desktop application that is currently in public beta. It aims to evolve the existing functionality of Twitter by taking an abundance of information i.e twitter feeds, and breaking it down into more manageable bite sized pieces.
  • Slandr - Slandr delivers an enhanced mobile site for Twitter, easier mobile use.
  • Brightkite - Brightkite is a location-based social network. In real time you can see where your friends are and what they're up to. Depending on your privacy settings you can also meet others nearby. Twitter can be integrated into this service as well for overall status - where are you and what are you doing?
  • Hahlo - another mobile enhanced Twitter app.
  • Twirl - twhirl is a social software desktop client, based on the Adobe AIR platform.  Some of twhirl’s features: runs on both Windows (2000/XP/Vista) and Mac OSX, connects to multiple Twitter, laconi.ca, Friendfeed and seesmic accounts, notifications on new messages, shorten long URLs (using snurl, twurl or is.gd), cross-post twitter updates to Pownce and Jaiku, post images to TwitPic, search tweets using Twitter Search and TweetScan, timeline filtering, color schemes, automatically check for new versions, and more (description via their website).
  • TinyTwitter - mobile app that prevents getting dinged for updates and double dinged for friend updates continually arriving via SMS. It will work on ANY Java enabled device and ANY Windows Mobile Pocket PC or Smartphone.
  • Ping.fm - Ping.fm is a simple service that makes updating your social networks a snap. Use AIM, GTalk, iGoogle, Windows Live Messenger, Yahoo! Messenger, WAP, iPhone/iPod Touch, SMS or E-mail and let Ping.fm relay your message to a multitude of social networking sites. Seemingly total social integration here.
  • TwitterFeed - Blog/Twitter easy integration; feeds your blog to Twitter.

There are, of course, other applications out there. But these are the main ones I encounter the most. Personal testing is required to find out what works best for you. some of these integrate and enhance more than just Twitter, which is a bonus. but again, it really depends on what is easiest and best suited to each users needs.

Twitterific Twittering...

Another great internet marketing tip for everyone (as always, I am at your service!)...

Check out Twitter. This application/service/Web 2.0 platform/social networking/ social media outlet prompts users to answer the question "What are you doing right now?" Simple enough, right? It is!

I personally have been a faithful Twitter user for a while and am completely enamored with it. It has great business applications as far as consistent networking, and is extremely easy to use. It takes next to no effort to tweet (the act of updating your Twitter status, or twittering), and it is easy to follow/be followed (the equivalent of being friends with someone via Twitter) - hence easy to network!

An enormous amount of applications have also been developed that coincide with and enhance the tweeting experience. It's up to the user's preference what they prefer. Twitter can be incorporated into Myspace, Facebook, blogs, RSS feed readers (like FriendFeed), and just about any other Web 2.0 application you can dream about. Twitter also has applications specific just to Twitter members, as well as outside services that offer Twitter enhancements, desktop applications, real time tweeting, etc.

The Twitter membership is also gigantoid (yes, I will make up a new word for it ;-)) - so an endless pool of other members to befriend awaits you! Make sure to build quality connections, and stay active within the tweeting community. Feel free to tweet about changes to your own websites, blogs, social media, etc - but also make sure that is not your singular purpose on twitter or the level of interest in your Twitter profile will quickly diminish (to nothing) amongst other users. Again, it's all about building QUALITY relationships with people and seriously avoiding spam-like behavior.

As far as an Internet marketing tool, Twitter can assist in network and relationship building tremendously. Also, updates on any of your websites/blogs/socialshiz/etc can be back-linked within your tweets, providing an opportunity for traffic to your sites. The most valuable traffic that will wander towards your back-links, however, are those that understand your credibility and reputation for quality connections (providing that is the relationships you insist upon building!!)

Hope this info helps, as always :-)

Social Bookmarking - What is Actually Useful?

In the crazy Web 2.0 world out there, social bookmarking sites are popping up everywhere. As a relative newcomer to the social bookmarking scene, I am trying to weed through what is truly effective and what isn't.

Social bookmarking is something I have been dabbling in since I began Internet marketing last year. I tried all the traditionally recommended sites -- I even blogged earlier about some of those sites as I began trying them. I submitted all my URLs, sat back, and waited for traffic.

Of course, I quickly came to the realization that this method is not the best method for traffic generation.

After a lot of trial and error, market research, and participation in bookmarking communities, I learned that simply submitting just your own websites as newsworthy material doesn't get you followers, friends or readers. When you ACTIVELY participate in the social community, others only then begin to migrate towards your website selections.

A good way to include your website into the mix of sites that you bookmark is including only updates and additions to your blogs, squidoo lenses, and main website updates. Highlighting new material and new contributions along with other sites significant to you provides a variety of links for people from enjoy and choose from, instead of just articles and blogs relating only to your webpages. The end result of this method is a larger friend/reader base.

When you submit updated material (ie new blog posts) within the same webpage, this directs traffic repeatedly to the same site and same backlinks. In turn, you have increased potential for traffic generation towards your home business pages.

Also, trying out free bookmarking software and websites that assist with multiple submissions simultaneously helps speed up the bookmarking process, and frees up more time for social participation. When you engage yourself in these social communities, you gain credibility and friends.

Some suggestions: Digg, StumbleUpon, Reddit, Newsvine, PlugIM, Del.icio.us
Multiple automated submissions: OnlyWire

(These might have been mentioned by me previously, but they are what I use. I have just learned to use them much more EFFECTIVELY now!)

The biggest key with all of these sites is CONSISTENCY! You have to stick with them, contribute regularly, highlight articles and newspieces OTHER than just your own information, and PARTICIPATE within the community.

Have something important to offer others, rather than just expecting something for yourself!!

Chao!

Website submissions

A great tip that is very overlooked to get your website and business out there on the big, bad web -- submit your website directly to search engines.

A lot of marketers think just because they blog about a website or make a myspace page referencing it that they will get a ton of traffic because they are doing other things to point towards their site. Not always the case, my friends. Sometimes backlinks get lost in translation. For example, with myspace, redirecting someone to a link for your webpage is a 2 step process where myspace converts all links to a myspace (msplink) caution before you can click through. Not the most direct method in free traffic flow to your business site.

Submitting your website directly to Google or Yahoo Directory
or Yellow Pages gets your website directly to all of the search engines. Of course, definately keep up the backlinking and link posting as much as possible, because it definately improves search engine ratings. Submitting your business website to multiple search engines puts your direct website into search results, rather than links that eventually get website wanderers there. And there are a TON of directories out there that url submissions are free or very cheap. Think Google, Yellow Pages, MSN, Y!Directories, Submit Express, AddMe, local business directories, etc. Get a good list going of where you want to submit your website to, and dedicate an hour or 2 to submittals. An easy workday thats well worth it!

Just another tip to make everyone's life easier ... food for thought :-)

Keeping Your Social Media Centralized

I find that with so many different socail networking, social bookmarking, social comment software, general networking and communication, and Web 2.0 type sites, pages, and memberships out there - staying centralized and focused when attempting many of these marketing methods is sometimes problematic. There is just SO MUCH out there for you to connect with others, and spread the word about what you are doing/selling/marketing that sometimes I find it difficult to keep up with. Needless to say, I am always on the lookout for new methods to make my life easier!!

One particular method that aggregates a decent amount of social and sharing sites is FriendFeed. Other similar sites definately exists, each of them on different levels. For example, Digsby combines a bunch of social media and chatting capabilities into one location. FriendFeed is similar in that it combines social media and other Web 2.0 applications into one membership - but it also gives it all a singular profile and feed, and updates changes in any account in a Real Time application manner using each websites feed. Very convenient - a must check out.

Back into the Marketing Game :-)

After taking a brief haitus to move into a new space to accomodate our business, Mark and I are back in full effect :-)

My Internet Business is doing exceptionally well, and we have also expanded into an incredible cash gifting program -- both of which have been extremely beneficial to us and our team members! And always, if you have any questions about either program we concentrate on, feel free to visit our My Internet Business Website, our Gifting Website or contact us directly (our phone number is available on either website).

On a general note, there are some great new tips I will be updating my blog with for all of our fellow internet marketers out there. We have been continually searching for new and innovative methods of marketing to keep ahead of the curve, as always :-)

Within article marketing, a great tip to check out is a free program called JetSpinner. This program takes each article you write and spins the content phrase by phrase (a little tricky to get at first, but once you do it a few times, it's VERY helpful). This allows the same article to be recognized by search engines as original content when submitting articles to multiple article submission sites. Very handy indeed. In turn, this increases the search engine rating of your articles, and thereby increases traffic through each "original" article and its backlinking.

A couple links for this:
www.jetsubmitter.com
www.spontent.com/spinner
www.articlepromoter.com/z/jetspinner

All these links take you to the same place to get the same software :-) And it is FREE, so get it while it still is!

Kyte channels

This is a great tool to stream photos, informational videos, promotional material, business information, etc. Create your own Kyte channel, then add your content to continually broadcast on your original channel. This can be done in a variety of different ways, and can be added as an application to your facebook page, myspace page, website, blog, squidoo lens, and more. This multi-use application is therefore an easy way to broadcast information within a variety of marketing and media methods (social networking, home webpage, within Kyte itself, social bookmarking, blogging). Again, this is another free marketing tool that, when used effectively, can relay a bunch of information in a streaming media platform in a veriety of different applications and methods -- so give it a try for yourself!

Free Classified Posts

Free classified sites can really help drive traffic to your website, and at no cost to you. HUGE BONUS.

However, the key to posting (although so many people abuse this), is avoiding overuse/spamming. It is very possible, if not easy in most cases, to post the same ad by clicking to copy and paste. However, the more you do this as a legitimate Internet marketer, the less value your over-posted ads really carry. Creating a well-worded and sparingly used ad can really go a long way.

A few sites I really like:

www.kijiji.com
www.myadpost.com
www.backpage.com
and of course...craigslist.

These sites do not allow MLM or wealth generating schemes, so if that is your online business, this might not work for you. However, there is great value in free advertising when utilized properly.

A great sample ad stresses the value in your company, an incentive to work with you in a supportive atmosphere, and the flexibility of working on the Internet. Throwing phrases around like "Make A Million Dollars in a Year" or "All Your Financial Dream Can Come True" are not valuable advertising methods because this is of course not plausible for every individual that clicks to your website or chooses to work with you, and it reeks of scam and dishonest tactics. So again, be smart with your free ad post, and always be realistic and honest.

Good luck!!

Using Social Networking to Create Valuable Leads

Social networking is an extremely valuable tool in the Internet marketing industry, and somewhat underestimated I believe. Most industry leaders count on paid advertisement methods to grab a large majority of their leads. However, especially for the beginner, this method might not always be accessible or financially possible.

Enter social networking.

The most common social networking platforms are Myspace, Facebook, Bebo, and LinkedIn (although there are definitely so many more out there)- all of which offer free memberships (although LinkedIn offers membership upgrades that do cost money). Each of these also allow you to search through groups, friends of friends, featured profiles, and more - and all of these are great methods to gain potential leads by increasing your profile's network. Especially with Myspace, you can join many groups that have focused interest in Internet marketing, MLM, online entrepreneurship (I might have just made up that word, but go with it :-)), home business opportunities, and all the other buzzwords you can dream of. Also, you can create your own group for others of similar interests to join. You should also request people from these industry specific groups as your friends, because if they are like minded in wanting to make money online, your site or profile might be the next online money making venture for them. Also, people that belong to these groups often already possess a decent amount of Internet marketing experience, so they could be a valuable asset to building your team. Facebook allows businesses to publish "pages" as advertisement platforms. People can join and follow businesses by becoming "fans", and as the owner of the page you create, you can also create targeted ads to run according to your budget to publicize your page.

Another convenience of social networking is the crosslinking potential. You can crosslink your home page, other social networking sites, Squidoo lens, blog, etc. and help boost traffic to your other sites as well. Some sites even provide easily inserted tabs, widgets, or badges for you to be able to crosslink easier. for example, I have inserted our Bebo badge below. Not only does it make inserting html code a breeze, but it also give you visually pleasing links.

Try out a few of these social networking sites, and let me know how they work out for you personally - I would love to hear your feedback, tips, and personal stories about how social networking works for you as well! And while you are trying out these sites, be sure to add our pages - links are below!!

Our Squidoo Lens - A Great Free Marketing Tool

I created a lens on squidoo for our webpage promoting MyInternetBusiness (our product). I just wanted to share this tip because I think it's a great free marketing tool for all kinds of businesses, both online and offline. It's a great tip to give to internet marketing newcomers because it's completely free and very user-friendly. You can customize your lense in so many ways, and there are a ton of places to submit your lens to boost its ranking. Also, squidoo has a TON of members (over 400,000 lenses alone right now i believe) and is growing extremely fast in popularity. There are also groups and forums within the site that you can contribute to and submit your lens to as well, so this additional internal lens and site promotion really helps.

So check out our lens if you get a chance - digg it, stumbleupon it, favorite it, give it 5 stars, link it, del.icio.us it, make sweet sweet love to it if you want to even (just don't tell your spouse!)

So take a minute and visit our lens, even if just to see what a lens is all about and learn how to make one! It's definately worthwhile for any businessperson.

Some great del.icio.us tips on how this website can help your My Internet Business site (or any other internet marketing site for that matter!!)

So I have been using del.icio.us a decent amount to compile a list of our links and related sites that I have authored. At first, it really was just an organizational thing for me I think. But now, it has turned into such a convenience for so many reasons! I don't really have that many friends yet, but since I don't believe in spamming I'm not going around like a crazy woman and adding people. But regardles, it's pretty awesome that I can get all my links in one spot, already formatted in html for perfect insertion for me! Take a look:

I think I am in love! Anything that streamlines my work and makes my life easier is definately OK in my book :-)

So not that this is a plug for del.icio.us (more like more shameless plugs of stuff we do), it's just a recommendation that I definately like this tool. And in internet marketing, we all know crosslinking is extremely important to boosting our site's ratings. So - del.icio.us my dearest, crosslink away!!!

Late Night Blogging about My Internet Business

Late at night is where it's at on the web I think! :-)

I am on the computer all day long, but sometimes the day just brings too many distractions! I find myself wandering away to throw a load of laundry on or take a call from a friend, and end up back at my computer desk completely out of sync with where I was when I got up. It's almost comical to me sometimes, when I take a step back, and realized how unfocused I really can be. My brother Mark, of course, will probably bust my chops for posting this, but I'm just being honest. I just really prefer working late nights rather than days sometimes, because it's much quieter, much less distractions, and I feel more tuned in to the tasks in front of me. I work much more efficiently I feel.

The point to my ramblings, you might ask? If someone like me can succeed at Internet Marketing and this amazing new system My Internet Business, than anyone can! I feel like I am personally the Cinderella story of the home business world. I went to school for Biology (pre-med) and English. I never took a computer course in all of my schooling; anything I knew on the computer was self taught (and still is). Yet, Mark and I have really been able to achieve amazing success with previous ventures and this new incredible product already as well. I have learned so much along the way, and it has all been extremely easy to pick up. Mark and I have the fortunate circumstance of having a great mentor. So we know how important having someone to guide you through the process can be, which is why we want to "pay it forward" and pass along our guidance to others.

So again, I am going to shamelessly plug our website like every blog :-) I am just so proud of it, it's our baby!!

Take a gander and let us pay it forward to you!!

My Internet Business has been launched, we are ready to build our team!

We are so excited to begin building our team! Mark and I (I'm Jessica :-)) got our access to My Internet business's back office today, and we really can't believe the amazing range of training, incredible products, personal business assistants, marketing services, manuals, templates, and so much more that is available through this revolutionary system. It really is changing the face of internet marketing today by raising the bar.

We have been working hard on our marketing campaign, and Mark has really done an amazing job with our website. So we are continuing our marketing efforts full throttle, and are ready to do the same for all of our team members. It has been a lot of work initially, but now that things are streamlined and the My Internet Business team is available for support 24/7, it almost seems too easy.

We went into this business opportunity with similar experience at this level - having dabbled in many similar in concept but lacking in execution ventures, and employing the same methods of internet marketing previously. Now we realize that the saying is true : You get what you pay for. The magnitude of what My Internet Business has to offer is really mind-blowing. It might be a little more in initial cost than some of our previous ventures, but it is so incredibly worth it. And we are ready to help provide the training and support to get our team members to the level of wealth that is a real possibility from joining this business venture.

Hopefully along the way this blog can demonstrate to you how some real, normal, down-to-earth people can accomplish great wealth over the internet with relative ease. If we can do it, you certainly can do it; so let us show you how.

Contact us today for more information, and let us explain in detail to you what we have to offer and how My Internet Business can help, along with us, take your life from where you are today to where you want to be. It truly is AMAZING.

Close to Launch

READY...SET...........

So we are now VERY close to our My Internet Business launch and Mark and I are SO excited! We are biting at the bit to really get into helping others achieve sucecss with this amazing product. The more and more I learn about it, the more enthusiastic I get. And the Rainmakers make this opportunity that much more beneficial.... it truly is a meeting of some really intelligent and impressive industry leaders working together on an incredibly innovative level. I continue to learn more every day!

I have been writing articles what feels like non-stop to start article marketing our website as soon as possible. Mark had to learn how to use Joomla and PHP programming language, which he is not familiar with at all. I am just passing all that along to him, though, because it's Greek to me! I have no experience with any of the programming side of things, and thankfully MIB has people that support you in every way, including web development! Plus we have our in house (now) expert - Mark! So the website should be fully functional either tomorrow or the next day, and then we can start publishing publishing publishing. Again, it is just really nice to be behind a product that I feel so strongly about, as does the rest of the Rainmakers. It is an exceptional feeling to have so much faith in success - in both our success and the success of the team we are ready to hand-select!

Well, I'm off to keep plugging away! Keep writing, publishing, and networking - it's the name of the game, right? :-)

And again, anyone who wants some down-to-earth and personal advice from me and my brother - we are just real people with a passion for what we do; and we would love to help in any way possible. Please visit us at our website for more information and to learn more about the My Internet Business product we are so excited about at http://www.myprovenprofit.com/blogger

Starting our business

So today is the first day we begin our journey to billionaire status!!

My brother Mark and I (I'm Jessica :-)) have started our own internet marketing business. Mark knows a decent amount about computers, web design, etc. - but I have NO experience with computers at all. I have a good amount of marketing experience with previous business endeavors with my husband and some smaller ventures with Mark, so hopefuly this knowledge will help!

This blog is basically a way for us to keep a diary of the steps we are taking to make our business a success, roadblocks we run into, and things we learn along the way in the world of internet marketing. Hopefully, our journey to success can shed some light to others that might be starting in the same work-from-home field as we are.

Today's work involves beginning blogging (new to both Mark and I), and signing up for ezines. We have already done some research in these areas, and are now actively joining sites, getting memberships, and signing up for more information in a variety of informational venues. You have to start from somewhere, right?

Hopefully, Mark and I can help you through reading about our process if you are attempting something similar. and if you have any questions about what we are doing or just want some friendly advice, feel free to contact us! We always love to help! Also, we hope that this blog helps our readers to get to know us on a more personal level, since we are able to demonstrate a more informal side with blogging :-)
