Some More Twitter Tricks for the Internet Business Person

I am really on this Twitter kick lately, and I love it! Normally, I discover something new, am fascinated with it for a while, then my interest wanes as I move on to the next great discovery. However, I have to say, I really do like Twitter for its simplicity, ease of use, and personal networking applications.

I find it much simpler than other social networking applications - I don't have to create a new profile for every new business venture, pimp out my page with skins and graphics, or join a whole bunch of pretentious groups that are just a breeding ground for spam. (Although Twitter has been getting invaded by the spammers a little lately, as all good things are these days).

I genuinely believe in ethical, honest business practices. I genuinely want to help people in whatever business I enter into, that's just me. Not everyone in Internet marketing are even on the same planet as I am with that belief (even though everyone claims to be on some level, it is really easy to see through on most people). And bringing things back to Twitter, it is so simple and direct that people entering into Twitter with only spamming on their mind are very transparent versus people that genuinely want to network and establish novel connections with others. Bonus for me :-)

So to the bones of this post - my greatest Twitter tip: establish genuine connections. Use that direct message button, reply to people's messages, and participate in the community and communication. By doing this, your Twitter experience will be incredibly enhanced.

Will this tip get you sales and conversions overnight? Most likely not. But by consistently building a value-centered network of connections, you are much more likely to produce a quality connection for a future sale with ethical and honest communication rather than with spamming.

I will now get of my business ethics soapbox. :-)

Hubpages - Better than Squidoo?

Internet marketers are always looking for new marketing methods. Staying ahead of the competition is extremely vital, and the Internet marketing and home business arena is extremely competitive, as well all know of course!

I mentioned Squidoo before as a great marketing tool, and very user friendly. Squidoo is still a fantastic tool, and a massive amount of traffic-increasing tips are out there to help each lens you build to get rated higher and get more traffic. I definitely still recommend checking it out.

I mention Squidoo in order to highlight another similar concept - HubPages. HubPages is an online publishing ecosystem where authors submit useful, informative articles on topics they know and love, and then earn royalties for their contributions through Google AdSense, eBay Partner Network or Amazon Associates.

While you can earn money directly through HubPages, it is also a useful tool for a home business or internet marketing business.

The most important thing to remember with HubPages -- provide quality content and DO NOT SPAM. you can absolutely backlink to an informative blog you might have, or an educational landing page, but HubPages delete hubs with spam links or links with popups. They also delete hubs with duplicate content, so BE ORIGINAL.

A great feature of HubPages is that their Google and Yahoo search ratings are continually climbing (even more so than Squidoo). Therefore, utilizing HubPages effectively can help tremendously with your current SEO efforts.

HubPages also does not allow adult content or spam content (a large portion of Squidoo's lenses) and still maintains search engine ratings comparable to, if not better than, Squidoo's ratings.

Try out HubPages and let me know your results! I would love the feedback!!

Backlinking

A great way to get website visitors is with effective keyword backlinking. What is backlinking you ask? Backlinking is references pointing back towards another website. Specifically in Internet marketing, backlinking is placing your home business website link within the context of relevant, keyword rich content (the more relevant, the more effective) of other pages. For example, placing your website link attached to keywords within your Squidoo page or Hubpage directing viewers back to your home page.

The particular beauty of this technique is that people clicking on relevant words usually denotes an element of interest in the particular keyword. Therefore, by attaching links to your home business page within related words, you are able to attain better conversion rates with specified interest.

As an added bonus (if what I'm saying isn't sweet enough already!), the greater the number of backlinks directed to your intended page dangling out there on the Internet, the higher your page's search engine ranking becomes. SEO, achieved.
